Causes of a high anion gap (MUDPILERSO)
Methanol
Uremia
Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) or starvation ketosis
Paraldehyde, phenformin
Isopropyl alcohol, isoniazid, infection
Lactic acidosis
Ethylene glycol, ethyl alcohol
Rhabdomyolysis
Salicylates
Other causes: hyperalbuminemia, administered anions
